Document review method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. In the research, selected texts from Turkish and German fairy tales were examined according to the root values determined by the Ministry of Education and the values in the fairy tales were determined.. The determinations were made according to the events that the hero of the tale experiences and the reactions of the tale characters to these situations. These determinations were made based on the values of justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, and helpfulness. The study utilized the information obtained through resource scanning. As a result of the research, 56 values were determined in Turkish tales and 58 values in German tales. While the most processed root values in Turkish tales are patience, love, respect, helpfulness, the most processed values in German tales were determined as helpfulness, love, and justice. In the tales of both cultures, the least processed values are the same and respectively, patriotism, self-control, and friendship. In general, the works discussed in Turkish and German fairy tales can be used to transfer values in Teaching Turkish to Turkish Children Abroad.
