Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to measure MVC maximum values for dominant and nondominant legs, recorded during sEMG measurements, correctly. From 'vastus medialis' and 'vastus lateralis' muscles, EMG and MVC values were recorded simultaneously. Specifically, required times to reach maximum contractions and those maximum contractions were compared between two lower extremities, reaching a conclusion that there was no significant difference. As a result, it can be seen whether the chosen muscle being dominant or not is unimportant for measuring recoveries in clinical studies. To measure sEMG-MVC values of these muscles correctly, Emg and force values should be recorded simultaneously. Today, only Emg values are recorded to interpret MVC values. But, it was shown that MVC values are calculated with error because of the effect of fatigue after a certain maximum contraction time. In current studies, emg values are measured with respect to a certain amount of recording time. But the correct measurement without error, should be recording the muscle force at the same time. Next studies will be about comparing those healthy subjects and other subjects who have muscles which have recently been through surgical operations. It will be shown that it is more important to record forces and sEMG values simultaneously for correct assessment on those patients with muscles of different characteristics.
