Abstract (EN)

The concept of recreation, which has become very popular recently in our rapidly developing and changing world, dates back to ancient times (Kelly & Kelly 1994). Aristotle, who evaluated the concept of recreation perceived in this period within the scope of "leisure activity", observed the areas of occupation of individuals (Torkildsen, 1992). Therefore, conceptually, recreation has been a part of life in all times and places where humanity has existed, from ancient times to the present. The main purpose of this study includes analyzing the differences in recreational well-being of swimming individuals according to demographic variables. In addition, our study aimed to examine individuals who perform recreational swimming activities in their spare time in terms of variables such as gender, age, marital status, educational status, economic status, sports history, profession and participation in different recreational activities. The universe of our study titled "Investigation of Recreational Well-Being Status of Individuals Swimming"; It consists of individuals who swim recreationally in Trabzon province. The sample group of our research is; There are approximately 550 participants who swim recreationally in Trabzon province. Participants will be reached using convenience sampling and snowball sampling methods, which are non-probability sampling methods. In line with the purpose of the study; Individuals who are over the age of 18 (generations x, y, z), who have previously or are currently swimming recreationally, who agree to fill out the survey form voluntarily will be included. Participants will be contacted via the form created using the "Personal Information Form" and the "Recreational Sports Well-Being Scale (RSSIS) Turkish Version", online in Google Doc and through a printed survey. Statistical analyzes will be performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 23 statistical software program. Depending on the normality of the data, Independent T-Test or Mann-Whitney U Test will be used in pairwise comparisons, and One-Way Anova or Kruskal Wallis tests will be used in comparisons of three or more groups. Additionally, Pearson or Spearman Correlation tests will be used to examine the relationship between continuous data, depending on normality.
