Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research; The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of theraband training on some physical and physiological characteristics and swimming performance in swimmers. This work; The study was carried out with the participation of a total of 20 volunteer athletes, aged between 8-12, who have at least one year of athlete background, and actively engaged in swimming in the 2022-2023 season. The athletes participating in the study were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. A standard swimming training program of 90 minutes was applied to all the athletes in the study, 4 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) for 12 weeks. In addition to the standard swimming training program, a teraband training program was applied to the experimental group athletes. It was designed to be 30-45 minutes 3 days a week for 12 weeks. Only standard swimming training program was applied to the control group. In all athletes; tests including physical and physiological characteristics and swimming performance characteristics were applied as pretest and posttest. Statistical analyzes of the obtained data were performed in the SPSS 23.0 package program at p<0.05 significance level. According to the findings of the study, the experimental group; height, stroke length, chest circumference, biceps circumference, forearm circumference, waist circumference, hip circumference, upper leg circumference and calf circumference, control group; height value, in the comparison between groups; height, chest circumference, biceps circumference, forearm circumference, upper leg circumference pretest posttest significant difference was found in weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, calf circumference posttest values (p<0.05). Experimental group; flamingo balance, sit-reach flexibility, standing long jump, vertical jump, control group; Significant differences were found in flamingo balance, sit-reach flexibility, standing long jump and vertical jump values (p<0.05). The 15m, 25m, 50m distances of the experimental group were respectively in swimming times, number of strokes, number of feet, control group; The distances of 15m, 25m, 50m were respectively compared in terms of swimming times, number of strokes, number of feet, and between groups; A significant difference was found in the pretest posttest and posttest values of the 15m distance swimming time (p<0.05). As a result, it can be said that the use of theraband in swimming training and swimming training contributes to the physical, physiological and swimming performance development of the athletes.
