Abstract (EN)
The ruling of music in Islam, which is created by bringing together aesthetically measured and harmonious sounds within a certain artistic understanding, with or without rhythm, in order to express a thought, feeling or natural event, is among the important topics of discussion today, as in the past. While there is no doubt about the halalness or haramness of some subjects in Islam, there is a disagreement about the ruling of music. Islamic Scholars have examined music in two separate parts: halal and haram. At this point, in addition to the views of Islamic scholars that music is generally prohibited except in exceptional cases, there are also views arguing that music can be halal if it complies with the principles of Islamic law. In this study, the investigation of the Zahirism sect's view of music in the light of the hadiths narrated in favor and against music is discussed. Our thesis consists of an introduction and two chapters. The introduction section includes the importance, scope and treatment method of our subject. In the first part, we included the birth of the Zahirî sect, the places where it spread, the views of the sect and the famous Zahirî scholars. In the second part, the Zahiris' comments about the verses and hadiths related to music were found, while in the conclusion part, a general evaluation of the subject we examined was made. While mentioning the conclusions we reached about the Zahiris' views on music, we evaluated the differences of Zahirism compared to other sects. Key Words: Zahırısm, Ibn Hazm, Music, Halal, Haram,
