The effects of time study on long term productivity: An empirical investigation at a food production company

Time is the most important source for a business enterprise in today?s management system. Time is an irreversible source when it is lost and mostly underestimated. Consequently, there are serious shortages in explanation of time management. In this study, to eradicate these shortages in literature of administration, we employed the time study and investigated the workers of an enterprise that is working in food market. In this study, the data was evaluated by a three-section survey developed by researchers. The first section of survey was questioned about demographical information of the participants, second and third section has questions on time study aspects. T-test and crosstabs analyses were used to search for the time study.Besides the advantages of right usage and productivity of ?time study? to the workers and enterprises, different than the studies that were done until today it has a direct effect on the psychology and attitude of the worker. By this study, the attitude of the workers, how productive they use the time they obtain, their decisions about time management and work order, administration policies and how much the workers participate to the planning evaluated. It is found the advantages for the enterprise that the workers to have this understanding. It was seen that a prior-measurement done among the workers about their expectations, determining their prejudices and their working conditions, and the application of his measurement on the enterprise and the points that the workers really need could increase the productivity.The road to establish the difference and win the race of competition goes through the usage of the ?time? source with maximum efficiency that every one of us has ? neither less nor more? than other and waiting for us to re-discover this time resource.
