Time management and an investigation for province managers working in youth and sport administration provinces

SUMMURY: The objective of this study is to determine effective and ineffective time management behaviours of the sport managers working in the organisation of Youth and Sport Administrative Province as Province Managers and as Section Managers and to recommend for some effective time management related activities. For this objective the literature is studied and information related to investigation subject is given. Additionally the investigator developed a survey and applied to managers. Based on the survey data, solutions are inquired for investigation subject related problems. The environment of the survey is composed of the sport managers working in 81 Provinces of Turkey as Youth and Sport Administrative Province Managers and as Section Managers. For the analysis of the survey data SPSS 10 pack programme is used. Individual variable distribution of the managers participated to the survey are based on frequency, % and individual variable comparison is based on p=.05 expression level unrelated "t test", unrelated one sided "ANOVA" test and "Scheffe" tests are applied. Finally, as the result of the survey it is found out that; there are insufficient number of sport managers working in Youth and Sport Administrative Province organisation who are educated in sport academies, their role and responsibilities are not defined clear and good enough to realise their responsibilities, half of the managers do not have a personnel computer, and most of the managers with a computer did not receive training how to use them. In addition to this, the effective time management behaviour is mostly "documentation system is to keep the documents in the same place to find them easily" and ineffective time management behaviour is "feeling that time is passing by quickly" 99
