Abstract (EN)

Turkish, recognized as one of the world's oldest and most established languages, has served as a language of science and art throughout history, producing thousands of works since its earliest written records. Initially, these works primarily aimed to spread religious teachings; however, over time, they expanded across various subjects and genres, resulting in invaluable linguistic artifacts. The most effective way to explore the history and vocabulary of a language is through studies conducted on such linguistic legacies. A literary work is examined from linguistic, stylistic, literary, and cultural perspectives, revealing the language's characteristics, changes, and developments through scientific analysis. One of these linguistic artifacts, Şehr-engîz-i Edirne, emerged in the 16th century as a literary genre depicting the beauties of a city, their professions, and their charm. These works provide insights into the socio-economic and socio-cultural structures of their time. Şehr-engîz-i Edirne is among the earliest examples of this genre and holds significance as it was written in the margins of Zâtî's Dîvân. This study aims to analyze the linguistic aspects of the şehr-engîz found in Zâtî's Dîvân, shedding light on its linguistic journey, vocabulary, and structural elements, while categorizing words based on their frequency.
