Skin is the largest organ of the human body. Skin aging is a complex and biological process that is affected by internal and external factors and takes place as a combination of these. In aging skin in general; wrinkles, color unevenness as a result of pigment irregularity, loss of elasticity and thinning are seen. A healthy and fresh skin appearance is accepted as one of the main reasons that represent the perception of health and general well-being in people. For this reason, in recent years, anti-aging cosmetic products and strategies have been developed to reduce the signs of aging. The activities of turmerones, one of the main components of turmeric, have been proven as a result of research and studies in recent years. Studies have shown that the use of turmerone-containing cosmetic products results in an increase in skin moisture, a decrease in fine wrinkles, and a more even, smoother appearance in skin tone. In addition, its inducing effect on the cell defense mechanism against oxidative stress has been proven. Thus, it has been observed that it has a reducing effect on the signs of aging caused by ROS. In this thesis, it is aimed to develop a O/W (oil-in-water) type emulsion cosmetic face mask formulation containing turmerone and evaluate in-vitro efficacy. Formulations with different clay, emulsifier and active substance ratios were prepared. The prepared formulations were subjected to the centrifuge test. pH, organoleptic control and viscosity measurements were carried out with those that remained stable. Formulations that did not deteriorate as a result of these tests were taken under long-term stability monitoring. The formulations were stored for 3 months in refrigerator (5°C ± 2°C), room conditions (25°C ± 2°C, %60 humidity) and in a climate cabinet (40°C ± 2°C, 75% humidity). pH, organoleptic control and viscosity measurements were carried out at the end of the 1st day, 1st week, 1st month, 2nd month and 3rd month of the formulations. In each formulation, the presence of the active substance in the formulation was determined by GC-MS at the end of the 1st day, 1st week, 1st month, 2nd month and 3rd month and its qualitative analysis was carried out. In order to test the antioxidant activity of turmerone in the prepared formulations, the antioxidant activity test was carried out with the DPPH method. Formulations containing 0.5% and 1% turmerone, placebo, a turmeric-containing product from the market, a formulation containing 1% turmerone after 3 months of stability monitoring, and the antioxidant activity of the active substance were measured. As a result of the tests performed, it was decided that the F6 coded formulation containing 15% clay, 8% emulsifier and 1% turmerone was the most successful formulation in all evaluation criteria.
