Abstract (EN)

The aim of the present study is to identify the effectiveness of simultaneous prompting on teaching the skill of telling the time to individuals with mentall retardation.Five mentally disabled students participated in the study. A pilot study was carried out with one of the students and an extra subject included as a subtitution. The study conducted with three subjects. Three skills to be taught to the children were determined. By means of simultaneous prompting the skill of telling hours, half hours and quarter hours was taught. A one-to-one instruction was carried out in all teaching sessions. In the study a multible probe design across behaviors which belogs to single subject research.The dependant variable of the study is defined as subjects? telling the time presented to them correctly with the rate of %80. The dependant variable of the study is simultaneous prompting. Application process was defined by the researcher as probe, instruction, generalization and maintenance sessions.At the end of the study, it may be argued that simultaneous prompting is effective to teach the skill of telling the time to individuals with mentall retardation. In addition, according to the findings of the research, it was seen that the subjects achieved maintenance and generalization at a high level.
