Abstract (EN)
With the birth of disabled childen of the family, they are confronted with many problems. After the first seriousness of the situation and psychological problems are wiping out the families. Having a child with a disability and psychological problems that are caused by this cause to extinguish the hopes of the life of the family İn addition to the psychological problems experienced, being exclusion from the society is becoming inconceivable for the families. The study was conducted in order to determine the relationship between social anxiety and perceived social support level of parents with mentally disabled children. The liebowitz social anxiety scale (LSSS) and thr multidimensional perceived social support scale were used to collect data. The results of the analysis showed that the perceived social support of the mentally retarded children was negatively related to the social support, and the perceived social support decreased the social anxiety and avoidance behavior.
