The effectiveness of constant time delay instruction in teaching the skill of showing the told fraction on the picture cards to individuals with mental deficiency

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of constant time delay instruction in teaching the skill of showing the told fraction on the picture cards to children with mental deficiency.The dependent variable of the study is, the subjects to show the told fraction from shown picture cards to them at the level of a least %80, and true. The independent variable of the study is, constant time delay instruction. Application process was conducted by the researcher as; probe, teaching, generalization and monitoring sessions.There are four students with mental disabilities in this study. Pilot application was conducted with one of the students and one of them was kept ready for in case of subject loss. The main process was conducted with two students. The skills which determined for teaching the students are showing the told all, half and quarter fractions on the picture cards. All teaching sessions were conducted with one by one teaching arrangement. In this research; multiple probe design with probe sessions across behaviors was used.Research findings have showed that constant time delay instruction in teaching the skill of showing the told fraction on the picture cards to children with mental deficiency is effective and students could generalize what they learn at the level of %100.Key words: Mentally Disabled Individuals, Skill of Showing the Told Fraction, Constant Time Delay Instruction
