The efficiency of the simultaneous prompting on gaining appropriate masturbation ability to teenagers affected by the mental deficiency via their families

General purpose of this research is determining the efficiency of the simultaneous prompting on gaining appropriate masturbation ability to teenagers that have mental deficiency via their families (mother-father). The research is composed of two steps, initially the qualification of using simultaneous prompting on skill education has been taught to families, whether they are able to generalize such method to another skill?s education process has been evaluated and if it is maintained after the application ended has been monitored. On that step, to gain the parents how to use simultaneous prompting education method, the skill of spreading soft nutrient to bread has been studied. Parents have studied on powder-drink preparation skill with their children in order to generalize simultaneous prompting method in the skill education that has been taught them previously. As for the second step, whether the presentation of appropriate masturbating skill with simultaneous prompting education skill by parents is effective has been investigated. The education process on that step has been realized by parents without the accompaniment of a researcher. Multiple probe design is used in the research which is one of the single subject research designs. The data has been analysed graphically. The subjects of the research are 4 adolescents and 4 families who study at Çağdaş Eğitim Practice School and vVocational Training Centre (Çağdaş Eğitim Uygulama Okulu ve İş Eğitimi Merkezi). In the light of findings of the research; each of four family members have learnt reliably using simultaneous prompting method, the families have continued to use after 1, 2 and 3 simultaneous prompting education has finished, they can generalise the skill other than the thought in the education, the simultaneous prompting is important for gaining the masturbation skill is efficient that presented, the subjects continued masturbation skill 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks after the education, masturbation skill that the subjects have gained via simultaneous prompting is efficient to generalise on their bodies. After completing the research Likert Type ?Social Validity Form? has been applied to each family member of the subjects. Families presented positive view for all questions. When the results of the Social Validity form have been examined it is seen that the social validity of the research is high. For the research that will be planned in the future, it can be seen that the usability of the other faultless teaching methods by the families and teaching suitable forms of different sexual behaviours, if the efficiency of teaching masturbation skill by gaining different teaching methods to the families is differentiable or not, comparison between the simultaneous prompting and another method which are one of the faultless teaching methods.
