Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to research the center of Zile, Tokat and its 24 villages (chart 3.1 ) in terms of ethnobotany. 62 males (chart 3.2) and females who are at the various age- range and the occupational groups and two herbalists were interviewed during the study. Local people were done face to face interviews and the plants which the people collect and use were identified. Their Turkish, latin and local names, used parts, ethnobotanical features were determined. 125 species which belong to 45 plant families and are naturally in research area were the most popular species in the herbalists'. It was identified that 45 species and varietas belonging to 25 plant families were known and used for traditional treatment, food for humans and animals, ornamental,incense and property by the local people for many years. All those plant species were collected and transferred as the cultural heritage. It was aimed to record the ethnobotanical information which is one of the parts of the culture, to create awareness about the potential of ethnobotany and to make contribution to using it more with the help of the scientific researches.
