Abstract (EN)

The status of "single" on identity cards is still perceived as a third marital status in social circles and widowhood predominantly affects women's lives more than men's, leading to discrimination and ostracism against women. In rural areas, where the patriarchal order is significantly more pronounced compared to metropolises, the challenges of being a widowed woman exacerbate the difficulties inherent in womanhood. Widows face numerous issues, such as financial hardships, single parenting, pressure to remarry, harassment, inability to embrace their femininity, and stigmatization. They strive to navigate these challenges while seeking ways to sustain their lives. On the other hand women living in the metropolis often find it difficult to realize themselves under the pressures of rapid life pace and societal expectations. As they struggle to find ways to achieve their dreams, they experience an internal sense of alienation. The fear of losing their identities in the chaos of daily life increasingly isolates them. The film "Zuhre, Orange Blossom" aims to portray the struggles of a widowed woman in rural life, her methods of coping with these difficulties, and ultimately the gains she achieves. Additionally, it highlights the transformation of another woman who draws strength from her roots in her journey of self-discovery.
