12-14 WHO engaged in sports and non-sports attending secondery education institutions

This study was carried outto determine the aggressiveness levels of students who are engaged in sports and non-sports who are studying at the secondary level. The student's universe constitutes the students who are studying at İstanbul Esenler Turkish Swedish Fellowship Middle School and who are studying Istanbul Esenler Birlik Middle School. The sample of the study is; randomly selected (12-14 agegroup) in total 640 students. The Aggression Questionnaire (SO) developed by Buss and Perry (1992) was used to determine the level of aggression of individuals in the study. This scale, originally developed in 1992 and composed of four main components,was later reevaluated by Buss and Warren (2000) and added indirect aggression component. The adaptation of the scale to Turkish was done by Can (Can, 2002). Mean, standard deviation analysis techniques were used for the analysis of the data. Independent t test, One Way Anova, was used to determine the differences. When the obtained data were evaluated statistically, the level of significance was taken as (p<5). As a result of the analyzes; According to Aggression Scale Sub-Dimensions, Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression, Anger, Hostility subscales the average of those who did not play at all was found to be higher than those who did sports as amateurs and those who played at leisure, and this was statistically significant (p<0,05). To be able to achieve this, the national ministries of education and sports have to support the generations of all ages sportively Universities have to undertake a more active task, especially institutions and organizations that have a say in the community, such as the municipality, it is thought that the spread of sports is important for the formation of a less aggressive society.
