Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of 8-week core training on some motor abilities of male players aged 14-16 playing football in Fenerbahçe sports schools in Başakşehir district. In this research, 17 male players aged between 14 and 16 years out of 100 male players playing football in Fenerbahçe sports schools in Istanbul / Başakşehir district participated voluntarily. In the research, Hüfa (Hacettepe University Football Research) test was used to measure height, weight, body mass index (BMI), speed, coordination, ball control skills and anaerobic power, with and without the ball, running and short distance. The differences in speed, branch-specific skill and coordination, explosive power (fast strength) and core strength were evaluated with the standing long jump test to measure explosive power (fast power) and medicine ball throwing tests to measure core strength. In the analysis of the data obtained from the research group, Shapiro-Wilk test was performed to test the normality of the data in electronic environment, histogram graphs, skewness and kurtosis values were examined. Due to the normality of the result, descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, minimum, maximum), related samples t-test were calculated. IBM SPSS 25 software was used to analyze the data within the scope of the research and was evaluated at p < 0.05 significance level. According to the results of the analysis, a significant difference was observed in the results of the pre-test and post-test values of running with and without a ball, standing long jump and throwing medicine ball (forward, backward and right side) (p<0.05). Throwing a medicine ball (to the left side) In ) there was no statistically significant difference because the results of the difference between the pre-test and the post-test were close to each other (p>0.05). In the light of this research and the information given in the literature, it is thought that core training will be beneficial in protecting and improving performance.
