In the 14. centruy, Bursa, which is the political and trade center ofOttaman empire, was a very important trade center for the east-west trade, works, after Istanbul became the capital, Bursa was still a trdae center for atleast one century. Also, because Bursa was a very important trade onecenter, this will affect the towns belonging to the sancak.Three regions which wre seen in the division of provinces of theOttoman Empire, were in the Bursa districts. In the first ?Tahrir Defter?,Yarhisar, one of the three regions, was called as a city, and the othersttlements were called as regions. Later, in the ?mufassal defter?s?, Yenişehir,Yarhisar and Göynük were registered as regions. In these notebooks, thenumber of the quarters of Yenişehir was three in 1487-1530 line, and thenincreads to four in 1573 line, three of them are old one is new. In Yarhisar, theree quareters in 1487 and four quarters in 1530-1574 line. Göynük, whichhas the most population and quarters, was ergistered as having 9 regions. This number is similar to the number which Evliya Çelebi called gave. Hegave this number as 8 then. As seen, the smallest regien is Yarhisar and thebiggest ?nefs? is Göynük. All the ?nefs? except Göynük was small settlementsbelow average. In these theree regions, teh avarage increasing population, was underthe averege of the increaasing population in the Akdeniz world in the 16.century. In these regions, the number of ?mucerred? people was similar to thepopulation increase in the Akdeniz area.
