Abstract (EN)
The present study named ?A syntactic study on a Siyer-i Nebî belonging to 18th century? has been carried out so as to put forward the numeral features of syntax and sentence length of 18th century Ottoman Turkish. In order to realize the aim of the study a work titled Siyer-i Nebi by Abdülbaki Ârif Efendi who was a well-known scholar and master of fine arts in 18th century was examined.At the first stage, two oldest manuscripts of the work with similar orthography styles were compared to construct a reliable text. At the second stage, sentence elements, word phrases, structural features of sentences and their linking styles have been put forward. Besides, statistical information of sentence, sentence elements and word phrases have been given, some graphs have been presented, and a comparative evaluation has been conducted through these graphs.
