Armenian political thought and political parties from the late 19th century to the present

In this work; Armenian political thought and political parties in the end of the 19th century to the present were discussed. In the thesis were clarified political, economic and security events in the Ottoman and Russian Empire at the end of the 19th century. In the thesis were discussed the role of the church in Armenian political thought, its importance and activities, nationalism, socialism and terrorism in Armenian political thought and also in parallel with the beginning of the process of politicization of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, the revolt against the state and its development since the second half of the 20th century. Also in the thesis were investigated the first political parties which were established during this period, as the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Tashnaksutyun), the Hınçak (Social Democrat Hunchakyan), the Armenian Revolutionary Party (Hınçak), the Armenian Revolutionary Party (Hınçaksutyun) etsc. Also were discussed the new political developments emerged at the end of the century, the expansion of socialist ideology in European and regional states, the effect of this on the non-Muslim Armenians living within the borders of the Ottoman Empire, and their political organization process. Other than was clarified period after II World War, the events of the Ottoman Empire on the Eastern and southern borders of and the attitude of the Armenians towards the Ottoman Empire. Another issue of the study is the establishment of the First Republic of Armenia and the political struggle after the establishment of the First Republic of Armenia, the foreign and security policy of the Republic of Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan policy have been examined. In this study were investigated, the political and military situation in the South Caucasus between 1918-1920, the occupation of the Republic of Armenia by Bolshevik Russia, the communist administration in the Soviet Armenia, the economic situation of the Soviet Armenia and political developments in detail. The main subject of the study was the declaration of independence of Armenia in the 20th century and the process of transition to a multi-party system, the struggle for power in Armenia and the establishment of political parties in Armenia and its activities.
