The figurative abstract trends of the painting art after 1950 and their reflections to the Turkish painting art

The tendencies towards abstraction in the art of painting first showed its effect on the artists of the world, especially in Europe, and our country was accepted in the following years. Abstract trend began in the late 19th century, in 1950, a result of innovative efforts in Turkey, entered the Turkish art and developed. In line with the cultural and social developments in the period after the proclamation of the Republic, Turkish painting art was influenced by the western style and entered into the process of modernization. In this study, where the tendency of abstraction after 1950 and the relationship of Turkish painting art with abstraction is discussed, the effects of art approaches developed in the west on Turkish painting art and the changes that Turkish painting artists show as a result of these effects are included. The primary aim of this thesis is to examine the concepts of abstract and abstraction after the industrial revolution, the emerging trends, the introduction of the understanding of art developed in Europe after 1950 into Turkish painting art, and the study of Turkish painting artists affected by these trends.
