Research of the contributions of technological developments after 1970 to the fashion and textile sector

The aim of this study is to search for the contribution of technological development after 1970 to Textile and Fashion sectors. In this context, technology, textile, fashion and design concepts are primarily explained and then overall situation of Textile sector in Turkey and worlwide is studied and historical development of the sector is briefly described. Next, the contribution of technological developments (emerged after 1970) to Textile and Fashion sectors are studied and the importance of technology in Textile and Fashion Sectors is explained. Finally, innovative design patterns that can be a reference to the reflection of technological developments on fashion designs are studied. As a result, it can be said that the technological developments after 1970 and especially as of 21st century, have made significant contributions to the textile and fashion sector, and as a result of these contributions, they are not only products that cover the basic needs such as clothings, but also become a multi-functional and facilitating daily life products. In this study, databases have been searched by documentary scanning technique and related resources have been reached, relevant information has been supported by images.
