An analysis of the European Union policies of the government of AK Party (from 2002 to 2007) and the coalition government of DSP-MHP-ANAP (From 1999 to 2002) within the context of the Copenhagen Criteria

In this study, the process of Turkey's full membership to the European Union is analyzed during two of the most important and critical periods within the scope of Copenhagen Criteria. The governments of Turkey aim to raise the confronting issues in this period to the modern civilization level targeted by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with the stable stance and the principles of saving national unity. Both governments make an effort to carry out the criterions of European Union about raising the welfare level of Turkish people. As a consequence of this study, it is understood that the policies of the European Union are decisively conducted as a state policy, not as a governmental claim. In the analysis of the two periods, similarities as well as differences have been traced
