20th term Niğde deputies and their political activities

This thesis focuses on the 20th term of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), covering the period between 1995 and 1999, and examines the lives and parliamentary activities of the Niğde representatives who served during this time. The study consists of an introduction, a first chapter, and a second chapter. The introduction outlines the topic, objectives, methodology, and significance of the research. Additionally, it provides an overview of the location and history of Niğde province. The first chapter addresses the following topics: the transition to democracy and the pluralistic model in Turkey, political life in Turkey before 1950, opposition politics and the establishment of new political parties, the era of pluralistic political life and democratic elections, political life in Turkey between the 1946 and 1995 elections, the process leading to the December 24, 1995 elections, the 1995 elections, and a general evaluation of the 20th parliamentary term (1995-1999). The second chapter focuses on the lives, political activities, and parliamentary work of the Niğde representatives of the 20th term. The preparation of the thesis involved the use of local newspapers, various books, articles, encyclopedias, online publications, the TBMM Proceedings Journal, the TBMM album, and the election certificates of the representatives. The conclusion section includes a bibliography, and the documents consulted are appended to the final part of the thesis.
