Local and traditional culture images in virtual context between 2000-2020

With the transformation of folklore into cultural science, the field of study has also expanded. Culture has now become an autonomous economic field and turned into an industry. Today, the cultural industry is considered to be one of the main investment areas where high profits are obtained and which produces versatile positive results. The share of the cultural economy and industries in employment and national income is growing rapidly. Some basic sectors that make up the cultural economy and industries are publishing, cinema, radio-television broadcasting, music, visual and performing arts, architecture, painting, graphic software and toy industry, entertainment, tourism, etc. are the fields. What these sectors have in common is that they exist and develop on the basis of "creativity". Essentially, creativity means being different and original. The infrastructure necessary for creativity exists in the fields of cultural heritage and art. Today, living cultural heritage has begun to be seen as a source of difference and originality. Many local images have become widespread through city-centered mass media and have become an important source of city-centered sustainable development policies. In this thesis, images of local and traditional culture on the Internet in the period 2000-2020 will be examined. Images related to local and traditional culture have been extensively evaluated in different areas of written culture and popular and mass culture. In this thesis, the formation, change and transformation of local and traditional culture images in the context of virtual culture will be evaluated, taking into account the examples in previous contexts.
