Collage art in 2000s in Turkey: Artists and practices

Collage revolutionized with daily used materials being included in 20th Century in painting art under the domination art peinture practice. Reflection of variable social needs with increasing industrialization and in consequence of different art verbiages in parallel with technological developments, collage art's finding itself a place is the subject of this study. Collage in today's art under the domination of interdisciplinary continues to be relevant in Turkish and World art with the technological developments. We determined that written sources concerning collage had been approached mainly in the centre of west and western artists. Accordingly objective of the study is to explain the place and the progress of collage technique in pictorial art in Turkey and collage art usage of artists in Turkey. In this study, we examined the variance of collage, passed into art history with cubism in 20th century and continue its existence as an important means of expression, in historical process and manner of application in the world art after 1940, place of other art practices and reflections of Turkish art. In theoretical investigations of thesis, we made use of source scanning methods, artist interviews, libraries of museum and art galleries, works in the thesis was made by the researcher using collage technique. In the consequence of the study we determined that nowadays most artists have numeric average of collage technique depending upon technological improvements and use several techniques together. In the chapter "Work of Collage Arts produced by Collage Artists in 2000s" of the study we see that it is a means of expressions from past to present used for various meanings with several manner of application. In personal studies by researcher we aimed to create an original language using theoretical investigation and artist analysis.
