Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to examine the role of the Cyprus dispute in Turkish foreign policy and Turkey's relations with the European Union (EU) between 2002 and 2019. To analyze the impact of the Cyprus issue on Turkey's bilateral relations with the EU and on Turkey's foreign policy, the official statements and documents of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey are scrutinized by conducting quantitative and qualitative content analysis. Also, this study elaborates on the developments affecting Turkey's policies in Cyprus from a historical perspective.
