Abstract (EN)

This work analyzes news on European Union (EU) during 2007 general elections. It has been told that meanings, values and reflections of news differ from paper to paper of national press and the positions related to such news have various forms. It has been stated that the European Union issue has various variations at the Turkish press.At the first chapter of the work, the views of the liberal and critical approaches and the "consent" related to the news have been descriped. Later, issues such as language, representation, meaning and the problem of reality are defined and the reason behind the difference between the representations are put forth.At the next chapter establishment and development process of European Union and Turkey-EU relations are analyzed. Determations concerning approaches of example political parties to the issue of EU are made in that chapter.At the last chapter, the differences between representations are determined by giving details about developments during 2007 general elections. Moreover, different points about Turkey-EU relations related to conjuncture of written press are stated in that chapter.
