The exercise of the right to protest during the State of Emergency period from 2016 to 2018

In this study, between 20/07/16 and 18/08/2018, the course of the protest right which is a collective right used by people who came together for political participation, freedom of expression or any purpose during the period of the state of emergency which was uninterrupted, was examined. Looking at this course, the temporary and spatial restrictions that regulate the exercise of the rights of citizens by public authorities and prohibitions that constitute the main axis and protests intervened by law enforcement officers between the dates specified are discussed. In addition to the relationship between the extraordinary political regime and the action repertoire, the government's performance and tools against this repertoire were examined. Temporal and spatial interventions related to protests were examined by categories. One of the aims of the study is to see the restrictions on the use of the rights of the prohibitions. This state of emergency period was analyzed sociologically, with definitions and discussions in the literature. Keywords: Protest Right, State of Emergency, Social Movement, Action Repertoire
