The art of installation in the context of changing spatial perception and new invasion areas in the art of the 21st century

The journey of the installation, which started in the late 20th century on the axis of Land Art as a radical art practice, and then reflected on galleries and museums, continues with its central role in contemporary art. Early 20th century artists make the space not a ground and add a new value to it, making it a part of the work; the art form gains hybrid freedom and the audience evolves into a participatory character. The aim of this thesis work is to understand the new dynamics of the relationship between the artist, artwork, changing spatial perception and the audience attracted to the center as a participant, starting with the development of the installation, which started to develop since the 1960s.Installations that push the boundaries of the museum and gallery and produce monumental and striking works in the context of creating new occupation areas will be examined in nine categories in order to understand the essence of this ambiguous, dynamic and focused art approach.
