Abstract (EN)
SUMMARY SANJAQ OF HOMS IN 1552 ACCORDING TO THE TAHRİR DEFTER NUMBARED 281 Muhammed GÜÇLÜ Fırat University The Institute of Social Sciences Department of History XI+126 Pages In our study, we examined the stuations of the administration, physical, demographic and economic of the Sanjaq of Horns in 1552 according to the Tahrir Defter numbared 28 1. In that time, the Sanjaq of Horns contained 3 districts, 158 villages and 744 hamlets. Also, the city of Homs was divided into 5 quarters. The populatin of the Sanjaq of Homs was not crowded in 1552. Around the populatin of the city was 18.019. Also, the populatin of the districts were 36.575. However, the population of the sanjaq was about 54.684. The most of the population was consist of Muslims. However, Christians and Jewises were living in the sanjaq. Key Words: Homs, Tahrir Defter, sanjaq IV
