360 degree performance evaluation systems and the study of a business enterprise

Performance management systems involve the development and application oftools and methods of approaches that enable the employees to work efficiently andproductively in accordance with the goals of the company. In recent years, due to thechanges in the Employment Act, performance management systems have begun toreappear in the agendas of corporations. With the legal changes, corporations havebegun to seek ways to set up systems to monitor and evaluate staff performance.Today the most common performance evaluation method, which is also widelyused by various organizations, is 360 degree performance evaluation method. 360degree performance evaluation method involves the evaluation of the qualificationsthat an employee is supposed to have by a number of evaluation groups such as hissubs, superiors, peers and customers. 360 degree performance evaluation is not asubstitute for a formal individual performance evaluation system, rather it is asupplementary instrument for this system.In this study, performance evaluation has been cited and 360 degreeperformance evaluation system has been introduced. The system?s application in achain store has been investigated and its effects on measuring employeeperformance have been displayed.
