The investigation of 6th grade students' attainment level of Turkish grammar outcomes and attitudes toward lesson

This study was performed to determine of 6th grade students' attainment level of grammar outcomes in turkish course curriculum according to different variables. Research was in a descriptive design. Population of the study was consisted of all of 6th grade students' who were educated in the central schools in Çilimli district of Düzce province in 2015-2016 academic year (N=237). The study was limited to 230 students who can be reached. The collection of data employed "Personal Information Form", "The Grammer Achievement Test" and" Turkish Course Attitude Scale". The data were evaluated by number and percentage, mean and standard deviation, Kruskal Wallis, Mann-Whitney U test and correlation analysis in Statistical Package Program. It was determined that 65.6% of accesibility levels to acquisitions of grammar of students in the study. The total mean point of the grammar achievement test was 28.89 ± 9.07 (min: 9, max: 44) Students, who gender girls, who high number of books to be read a monthly, who have a study room in home, whose mother' education of levels, who participated in training courses had higher frequencies of accessibility levels to acquisitions of grammar (p<0,05). There was no statistically significant difference between students' accessibility levels to acquisitions of grammar and father' levels of education and economic status (p>0,05). In addition, it was determined that a positive correlation between the accessibility levels to acquisitions of grammar and the Turkish course attitudes of the students. According to the results, there is a significant effect of various variables on the accessibility levels to acquisitions of grammar 6th grade students'. In this context, it is necessary to improve the socioeconomic conditions of the students and to encourage student-centered education which will positively influence the personal development of the students.
