Abstract (EN)
Türkiye is a country that frequently faces disasters such as floods, avalanches and earthquakes. The most important disaster that needs to be combated for Türkiye, which is located among active fault lines, is earthquake. The recent 1999 Izmit and Gölcük earthquakes, 2011 Van earthquake, Elazığ - Sivrice and İzmir earthquakes caused great loss of life and property. Finally, the February 6 Kahramanmaraş Pazarcık (Mw: 7.7) and Elbistan (Mw: 7.6) earthquakes, which were the most severe earthquakes in the history of the Republic, caused heavy damage and loss of life in a total of 11 provinces, especially Adıyaman, Hatay, Malatya and Kahramanmaraş. Many studies are carried out after the disaster, from meeting people's basic needs to life returning to normal. One of these works is building damage detection work. Building damage detection works are crucial for analyzing the current situation, developing strategies for improvement works and taking precautions against future disasters. In this thesis study, the data obtained from the damage assessment studies carried out by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Directore of Construction Affairs in the provinces of Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Malatya, which were most affected by the February 6 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, were examined. The data were classified according to different parameters (year of construction, applicable construction code legislation, load bearing system type, number of floors, general purpose of use) and the causes of damage were investigated. For this purpose, official damage assessment data in Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Malatya Provinces were classified and the relationships between damage levels and some parameters were examined. Taking these relationships into consideration, suggestions have been developed that can be used as a basis for strategy determination in risk reduction activities. As a result, with the experience of current earthquake damage results, a priority assessment has been put forward for structural measures to be taken before devastating earthquakes that may occur from now on.
