Transcription and analysis of Ayintab judicial record nu: 99 (L.C.1139-1159 / A.D.1727-1746)

Judicial records are one of the most important document of Ottomon history. The judicial records contain so valueble information about Ottoman Empire in lots of fields, military, legal, economical, religious and administrative. The records comprise old accommodation units; nicknames, which are given to that place?s people; commercial relationships, social lives, economical conditions and legal relationships between people who live there. Therefore, in order to clarify Ottoman history, these documents need to been translated into Turkish and analyzed attentively. The study of 99 numbered Ayıntab Judicial record contains Hijrah or L.C. 1139-1159 / A.D. 1727-1746, 99 numbered Ayıntab Judicial record is 192 pages. There are 88 administrate document and 135 legal document in the volume. The study was written using both sides of 99 numbered Ayıntab Judicial record. Records were kept on both sides of the register. On the first side, legal documents as judicial entitlement, verdict, charitable foundation were recorded and on the other side, administrative documents as petitions, buyuruldu and fırman were recorded. By the translation of this document, we have introduced detailed information about Ayıntab and the Ottoman Empire in lots of fields social, political, economic, administrative, financial and legal structure. Ayıntap which belongs to Maraş between 1727-1746 years, is an important district in terms of income tax for Ottoman state. Because the tax is collected complete, kindly and as proper law, Ottoman state is a social state. Economy activity of Ayıntab occurs out by agriculture and stockbreeding. The together livings of Jews, Bosnians, Kurds, Armenians, Arabians and Turks show to be a peaceful atmosphere in Ottoman state.
