Reduplications in the Works of Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar

In this study, the reduplications found in Abülhak Şinasi Hisar's works Fahim Bey ve Biz, Boğaziçi Mehtapları, Çamlıcadaki Eniştemiz Ali Nizami Beyin Alafrangalığı ve Şeyhliği, Boğaziçi Yalıları, Geçmiş Zaman Köşkleri, Geçmiş Zaman Fıkraları, İstanbul ve Pierre Loti and Yahya Kemal'e Veda are identified and examined. The aim of the study is to evaluate and classify the reduplications in Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar's works in terms of meaning, structure, borrowed words, word type and different formations based on the identified reduplications. The study consist of an introduction, analysis and conclusion sections. The introduction section provides information about Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar's life, literary personality and works followed by a general overview of the topic of reduplications under the heading "The Colorful Treasure of the Turkish Language: Reduplications" Additionally, a general evaluation is made ragarding the spelling and punctuation marks used by Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar in his works. The analysis section of the study is divided into five main headings. The reduplications, classified as meaning, structure, borrowed words, word type are examined with examples in sentences. The identified reduplications are primarily evaluated in terms of their semantic relationship. Then, the reduplications are evaluated in terms of structure based on the suffixes they take. Through dictionaries, the reduplications in terms of word type, they are classified by paying attention to their function within the text. In the conclusion section of the study, a general evaluation of the identified reduplications in the works is made accompanied by numerical data and these evaluations are presented in the conclusion part.
