Abstract (EN)
In the World and in Turkey, both the production area and production amount of cherries are increasing. To evaluate the impact of a product on the development of a region and its future production potential in the best possible way; It will only be possible if current problems are correctly identified and solved, and future actions are taken today. The main purpose of the study is to investigate the possibilities of making detailed structural analyzes of cherry production and marketing organization in Saimbeyli District, offering solutions to the identified deficiencies, increasing the income of cherry producers and contributing to the rural development of the district. In this study, cherry production and marketing in Saimbeyli district of Adana province were examined, existing problems were identified and solutions were developed to eliminate these problems. The main material of the study consists of primary data obtained from individual interviews with cherry producers in Saimbeyli district and intermediaries (merchants/exporters/brokers) operating in the region. As a result of the study, it was emphasized that the necessity of improving the cherry production technique, eliminating the deficiencies in marketing organizations and creating new marketing strategies by reviewing market targets.
