Abstract (EN)

In this study, we have randomly selected 96 producers to measure the level of use of organic fertilizer by farmres in Karataş and Yumurtalık district of Adana, which is known that intesively irrigated and fertilized. The interviews were conducted face to face and the obtained data was analyzed. The majority of farmers (62,5%) which is engaged in agricultural production are using organic fertilizers. Also, 18,8% of farmers stated that they did not use organic fertilizer because they did not trust it. Producers who had soil analysis prior to fertilization is only 25% and this rate is rather low values. The majority of producers are not have soil analysis because of not need and have to pay fees. All of producers using the organic manure agreed to use the fertilizers derived from chicken feathers and to pay between 5-10% more than normal fee in response to improve productivity. Farmers' main information source was friends and relatives. It is need to more informed of producers about to soil analysis and benefits using of organic fertilizers with agricultural extension and education activities.
