Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of pliometric training on physical fitness parameters in adolescent taekwondo athletes. 66 athletes were included in the study. With the simple randomization method, 66 athletes were divided into 2 groups. 33 athletes were included in the study group and 33 athletes were included in the control group. The training group received pliometric exercise training in addition to the normal training program for 6 weeks. The control group continued the normal training program. Taekwondo athletes; demographic data such as gender, age, weight and height were recorded. Y balance test was used to evaluate balance. One maximum squat and leg extension test was used to evaluate the strength. Shuttle and push up tests were used to evaluate endurance. Goniometry was used to evaluate flexibility. In order to evaluate power and agility, hexagon agility test, vertical and horizontal jumping tests were used. All evaluations were performed by a physiotherapist other than the physiotherapist who applied the treatment. The assessments were performed twice before and after the 6-week exercise training. The individuals in the education and control groups were given a 6-week period. an increase was observed in all parameters (p <0.05). An increase in muscle strength and endurance was observed in favor of the training group (p <0.05). Balance, agility-bounce hight and flexibility parameters of physical fitness were similar (p> 0.05). In conclusion, pliometric training is an effective method for the development of muscle strength and endurance in adolescent taekwondo athletes. We think that this training can be an example of studies that will be included in adolescents in different sports and compared with different types of exercise.
