Abstract (EN)
The duration of the emergency aid phase, which follows the development of the disaster from the moment it occurs and starts immediately after the disaster, varies between a few days and a few weeks, depending on the magnitude of the disaster. The main objective of the actions at this stage is to save people's lives as quickly as possible, to provide treatment for the injured, and to meet the vital needs of the exposed people, such as water, food, clothing, shelter, and protection, as soon as possible with the most appropriate methods. Field-Emergency Hospitals are life-saving units that can provide emergency health services to the sick and injured in disaster situations and wars, in the emergency area, in portable shelters, using portable-quickly assembleable health equipment. As a portable shelter in Sahara-Emergency hospitals; pre-prepared demountable shed or container, unassembled tent packages and prefabricated structures are widely used, patient beds for examination and treatment and portable-quickly assembleable health equipment specific to these hospitals are also placed in these shelters. The existing types of shelters have their own advantages and disadvantages, and besides the need for fast and easy installation for these shelters, such as reusability, easy storage without the need for extra space, storage without being adversely affected by environmental conditions, being able to be stored without deterioration, expandability according to needs and cost-effectiveness. elements are also prominent. With this study; a model design consisting of expandable modular units for fast, easy and repeatable installation, which includes all the advantages of each existing model and eliminates its disadvantages, was carried out and this design was evaluated in terms of sustainability and compared with the existing models in terms of sustainability. Considering the needs that emerged after the 6th February earthquake; the model, which constitutes the main purpose of the study, can be used as an "Emergency Situation Module" (ESM) for health services and is suitable for creating a field hospital with its flexible modular structure, as well as temporary accommodation unit, mobile kitchen, bathroom-toilet, etc. needed in disaster areas. By evaluating its suitability for different uses, spatial setups were created and the necessary technical equipment was integrated into the model. By adhering to the concept design; considering the criteria such as low cost, easy installation, portability, modularity, sustainability, etc., the manufacturability of the module in accordance with mass production was analysed and technical details were defined for the industrially producible model. In this research, a design scenario representing the design-oriented innovation process was applied. In the user-oriented development of the concept design, the basic requirements defined by the regulations for suitability for use as a hospital module were met. The functional scheme suitable for the organizational structures of the field hospitals has been planned in accordance with the modular design. Considering that both traditional and industrial materials are used in the buildings designed with the concept of sustainability, easy installation, easy production, sustainable and fast-supplied materials were prioritized for a light, flexible and sustainable model within the scope of the priority objectives of the study. In terms of sustainability, 30 of the 32 criteria taken into consideration for comparison with other accommodation units received a "Yes/High" score, it was evaluated as "Partial/Medium" in only 2 criteria and stood out compared to other installation types. In addition, the usability of the developed module for different purposes (animal hospital, temporary shelter, etc.) in disaster situations has been demonstrated.
