The legends which are related to the place - names in Central district of Afyonkarahi̇sar: Compilation - study - texts

In this study named as "The Legends which are related to the Place-Names in the Central District of Afyonkarahisar compilation-study-texts" general information about Afyonkarahisar was given, and it was focused on Turkey's toponymic studies. Furthermore, the term "legend", its characteristics of content and expression, its function, its relations with other genres and its classification were mentioned. Moreover, motif structures of 136 legends compiled and classified by the researcher of this study were evaluated after the studies that have been conducted up until today about the legends on Afyonkarahisar were explained briefly. Thus, it was tried to detect historical, political and religious background in public imagination through these legends related to/with the place-names given by the public of Afyonkarahisar.
