Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of nepotism, which is one of the important issues in family businesses, on the performance of employees. The universe of the study consists of family businesses operating in the Construction Market sector in Thrace Region. Within the scope of the sampling method, the personnel employed in the family businesses operating in the Construction Market sector were reached. During the research, 11 companies were interviewed and a total of 316 participants were reached. The questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. The questionnaire forms consist of questions related to demographic characteristics, Nepotism Scale and Employee Performance Scale. Data analysis was done by SPSS 22 package program. In the analysis of data, descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and relationship tests were used. In the study, it was determined that nepotism had no effect on the employee performance in the family businesses operating in the Construction Market sector in Thrace region. In the study, it was determined that the employees' perceptions of nepotism were low and their perceptions of performance were high.
