Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to examine the relationship between perceived mobbing, organizational deviance, and alienation among academics working in faculties of sports sciences. The study population consisted of a total of 307 academics employed at faculties of sports sciences in various universities across Türkiye during the 2024–2025 academic year. Data on participants' institutional affiliation, marital status, department, length of service, and academic titles were collected using a personal information form developed by the researcher. To measure mobbing, the Mobbing Scale for Academics—comprising 45 items and 5 sub-dimensions based on Leymann's Typology of Mobbing (LIPT), a widely accepted model in the literature (Leymann, 1990; Davenport et al., 2003)—was utilized. Perceived organizational deviance was measured using the Perceived Organizational Deviance Behavior Scale developed by Anasız and Püsküllüoğlu, while the Organizational Alienation Scale, developed by Yıldız and Alıcı in 2019, was employed to assess levels of alienation. For data analysis, SPSS and its structural equation modeling extension, AMOS, were used. The Shapiro-Wilk test was conducted to assess the normality of data distribution, followed by examination of skewness and kurtosis values. The findings revealed that while academics reported a high level of perceived mobbing, their levels of organizational deviance and alienation remained at a moderate level. This suggests that despite experiencing significant mobbing, individuals do not necessarily convert this perception into destructive behaviors or complete disconnection from the organization.
