Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is the exemaining the relationship between post traumatic growth, perceived social support, repetitive thinking and intolerance of uncertainty patients with lung cancer. The sample of the research consisted with 90 patient who came for checking for their lung cancer where in Dr. Suat Seren research hospital. The questionnaire of 'Posttraumatic Growth (P.T.G)', 'Perceived Social Support (MSPSS)', 'Repetitive Thinking' and 'İntolarance Of Uncertainty' were completed by patient who were all male. To determine the effect of disase-related variables, multivariate analysis of variance, one-way analysis of variance, and independent sample t test is conducted. Correlation analysis and stepwise regression analysis is used to understand interrelationships between variables. According to one-way analysis of variance result, stage of cancer has a significant effect on posttraumatic growth F (3,86) = 4.01, p<.05. As a result of the correlation analysis, it is found that there is a significant positive correlation between total post-traumatic growth score and perceived social support and intolerance of uncertainty total score and subscales (p<.01). According to the results of regression analysis, the only significant variable on post-traumatic growth is perceived social support [β = .314, t (88) = 4.212, p < .01]. Findings are discussed in the light of the literature. Key Words: Posttraumatic Growth, Lung Cancer, Perceived Social Support, Rumination
