Abstract (EN)
Smart homes claim to make our homes energy efficient, secure and more comfortable. Among with their benefits, smart homes also bring some risks and doubts. This study employs the TAM to explain the user-centric and system-centric factors that effect the consumers' attitude towards smart homes. Among proposed 19 hypothesis, 2 were rejected and 17 were accepted. Study results are compatible with original TAM and supported its propositions. The results indicate that interoperability has huge impact over the success of smart homes. It is found that consumers perceive safety and energy efficiency as the main benefits of smart homes.
