Abstract (EN)

As a result of the rapid increase in the world population, urban problems have become a situation that needs to be solved with urgency. The concept of smart urbanization, which emerged as a solution to this problem, which has its roots in the industrial revolution, has rapidly gained popularity today and has started to be implemented in various ways. It has been observed that there is no single definition within the scope of urbanization and the application system varies locally. With these differences, the suspicion that technology has overtaken reason has been revived. The question was asked to what extent social demand and foresight should be present in the smart urbanization process. The lack of architectural design and geoscientific studies in the context of urbanization and settlement has been noticed and explained in the context of smart urbanization. The aim of this study, which includes analytical approaches to the lack of standardization in current smart urbanization practices and the relationships between concepts, is to investigate the current dynamics of smart urbanization transformation worldwide, to reveal the problems within this dynamic and to propose a guidance system to support development. Within the scope of the study conducted with a mixed research method, the characteristics and principles of the concept of smart urbanization were investigated, a survey scale was created and applied to measure public opinion on the subject, and a dynamic guide proposal was presented in order to prevent conceptual deterioration and ensure effective development.
