Abstract (EN)

With the rapid increase in the population of cities, it brings with it many problems such as transportation, crime, environment, ecology and security. In this case, cities need to use resources efficiently and city management should be faster. Cities need an intelligent system that covers all transportation, environment, economy, governance, life and human issues in order to do all these things. The smart city concept aims to find solutions to the problems experienced together with technology by using the resources of the city more efficiently. With the Internet of things, one of these technologies, it obtains information received from the environment through devices without human intervention and sends it to the data monitoring system. The data that becomes available in the system turns into intelligent behavior. Efficient and fast solutions are produced to the problems encountered in daily life with IoT. In this study, the concepts of smart city and internet of things have been explained why internet of things technology is important for smart cities by drawing conceptual frameworks as a result of the information obtained as a result of wide area research. Sample applications for Internet of things technology in smart citiesfrom the world and Turkey have been included. By comparing the world and Turkey, we are trying to understand what state Turkey is in in these developments.
