Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to examine the level of inclusion of lifelong learning skills in the 3rd grade science textbook. It is a qualitative research and document analysis method was used to collect data. Its universe consists of the 3rd grade Science textbook of Anka Kuşu Publishing, which is taught in primary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample of the research consists of the texts, activities and evaluation questions in this book. Content analysis method was applied for the collected data. All the subjects included in the 7 themes of the textbook were examined one by one, and it was tried to determine the level of inclusion of lifelong learning skills and which skills were the least and the most. As a result of the investigations, the most; effective literacy skills in each theme were followed by research skills and learning to learn skills. The least found skills were, respectively, adapting to development and change, having a positive self-perception, communication skills and high-level thinking skills. When we look at the distribution in general, first of all; It is striking that the least and most common items are almost the same in each theme. Having at least and at most two-sided sharp images; While it shows that certain items are emphasized and certain items are ignored, it can be said that an imbalance situation prevails. The remaining items are too scattered among the topics. In short, it has been determined that the level of involvement varies according to the subjects. Half of them show an unbalanced distribution according to the subjects; Although it is not at a sufficient and stable level, it has been tried to include skills in general. However, the 3rd grade science textbook does not meet lifelong learning skills to the required extent. An expert also carried out the same examination and reached similar conclusions. There was a difference of opinion on maximum three items between the expert and researcher findings. This study is an exemplary study on the level of inclusion of Lifelong Learning Skills in textbooks; It is recommended that science and other textbooks be reviewed in terms of skills. Textbooks and other resources should be able to offer a perspective that can lead students to lifelong learning.
