Abstract (EN)

In recent years, there has been a high increase in the world population. With the increasing population in the world, the consumption of water, food and fossil fuels increases and causes soil degradation. This situations increases the importance of sustainable food production using less water and energy. With the effect of air pollution, the deterioration in the soil cannot meet the supply-demand balance of the increasing human population. Fish production in freshwater environments is one of the studies carried out in order to ensure the supply-demand balance. Due to the limited freshwater areas, studies are carried out to obtain the highest efficiency from the unit area. Aquaponic systems are systems that need to be developed in order to reduce water consumption and save space in future plant and vegetable production. This thesis study was carried out in order to benefit from these systems in the most effective way. In this study, an aquaponic system, which is a closed environment culture formed by the association of fish and plants, was established. An artificial lighting system has been installed for plant growth in this aquaponic system created in an indoor environment. The effects on fish and plant growth were investigated using a UV filter and pump speed variability. In the study, analyzes were made by installing three aquaponic systems as the situation where the UV position varies and UV is not used. Separate code software has been developed for plants and fish grown in aquaponics. The development of plants and fish was investigated using the image processing method. Comparisons were made between the systems installed afterwards.
