The dialect of Alaçam (Samsun)

1867 is the start of the researches into the dialects in Turkey. There are stil many regions that have not been examined. One of the unexamined areas as a dialect survey is Alaçam, a district of Samsun. For this reason, it was decided to examine the dialect of Alaçam district. Within the scope of the study, 35 compilations were made from Alaçam town center and villages and 27 of these reviews were included in the thesis; these collections were deciphered on the basis of the transcription signs adopted by the Turkish Language Association, and created by Ahmet Bican Ercilasun's proposal. The study consists of "Introduction", "Phonetics", "Morphology", "Texts", "Conclusion", "Glossary" and "Bibliography" sections. In the first chapter, the information that may affect the oral structure of the district such as the history, geography, climate, population, education and economic structure of Alaçam is given. In the second part, a detailed phonetic analysis is performed based on Prof. Dr. Mehmet Aydın's study "The Dialect of Aybastı." The study is enriched by studying morphology as well as phonetics. In the texts section, the transcribed texts of the compilations are given using transcripts. In the Results section The results determining the position of Alaçam dialect in Turkish dialects of Turkey are put forward and the findings are given in articles. In the dictionary section, based on the texts which are the material of the thesis, the words which are thought to be different in Standard Turkish in terms of phonetics and meaning are brought together.
